Sadly, almost a year has come and gone and yet over 100 Israeli hostages are still held in Gaza, Israel is still at war on multiple fronts and so many lives have been lost in battle.
The pain and trauma of October 7, 2023 is still too much to bear.
With all this in mind, I pray that you will join either one or both of the following community gatherings to mourn, to remember and to hope. The first gathering will take place Sunday, October 6, 2024 at 4:00pm at the Jewish Federation of Broward County. The address is 5890 S Pine Island Road Davie, FL 33328. Secondly, we will hold a local commencement gathering at CKT jointly with our friends from Temple Beth Orr on Monday October 7, 2024 at 7:00 pm. In addition to prayers, poems and appropriate music; three members of our community will speak:
- Pastor Randall Cutter of New Dawn Community Church and co-chair of the Coral Springs/Parkland Interfaith Clergy Association.
- Helene Foster, Leader/Boca Raton/Parkland of the weekly “Run for Their Lives” at Pine Trails Park in support of the hostages.
- Nitzan Helmer our Israeli young adult who works specifically with our children in the field of Israel education.
We are all in need of a great deal of healing. Let us find strength and courage by feeling the power of a community united in prayer, forging a path forward for better days ahead.
We will ensure enhanced security is in place for the event at CKT.
