Our Social Action Committee sponsors a number of projects at Kol Tikvah that allows our members to be actively involved in Tikkun Olam.
Each month (usually on the last Monday), our Kol Tikvah families make PBJ sandwich lunches that are delivered to the St. Laurence Chapel on Blount Road to help feed the homeless. We also collect men’s clothes, socks, disposable razors, bath towels and toiletries to be donated as well.
At the beginning of the school year, we conduct collections of new and gently used shoes as well as backpacks for In Jacob’s Shoes, and school supplies for JAFCO.
We conduct an annual food drive at the High Holy Days. Kol Tikvah families and holiday guests donate over 4,000 pounds of non-perishable food items to the WECARE Pantry.
In December, we conduct collections for Women in Distress and Family.
Our annual Mitzvah Day is held in the Spring.
Year round, we encourage everyone to collect tzedakah to benefit local, state, national and international charities.
