Here’s what we accomplished together:

SOS Children’s Village (Cathy and Alan Rosen)
volunteers played games with 15 children and decorated cupcakes.  All the children received a small gift.

In Jacob Shoes (The Zweig Family)
130 pairs of sneakers were cleaned and 215 pairs were collected.  These shoes will be donated to children in need for “Back to School” in July and August.

Support the Troops (Nancy and Nat Nussbaum)
volunteers helped to pack 135 boxes filled with toiletries and non-perishable food items to be mailed to US troops serving overseas.  Volunteers wrote letters and drew pictures to include in the boxes.

Women In Distress (Nina Gordon and Irina Hecht)
About 400 bags of small size toiletries were packed and delivered for women who are victims of domestic abuse.  Excess items were donated to Family Central.

Lunches for the Homeless (Nina Hersch and Kathy Knee)
Volunteers made 485 sandwiches which were delivered to Broward Outreach.

Debate Team Clothes (Bonni Tandet and Nordin Weinberger)
2 bags of clothes appropriate for  high school debate team participants were dropped off at a Broward School Board site to be distributed to students in need.

Family Central (Bonni Tandet and Nordin Weinberger)
120 purses were collected, cleaned and packed.  They will be distributed at Family Central on May 4-May 7

Chemo Care Bags (Lori Perwein)
55 chemo care bags were packed and delivered to the Sylvester Cancer Center in Deerfield for cancer patients.

NW Focal Point Senior Center (Lois Rubin)
20 pillows made from T-shirts were sewn and delivered to the NW Focal Point Center for seniors to use.

Breast Cancer Bracelets (Suzanne Schwartz)
28 bracelets made of pink beads were made and delivered to an area hospital to give to cancer survivors.

Kol Tikvah Garden Project (Laibel Block and Genie Sasson)
volunteers cleaned the soil, weeded, planted herbs and put down fresh mulch in Nina’s Garden.

Men’s Club Breakfast (Jay Siegel)
Men’s Club volunteers under the direction of Jay organized, delivered and set up a delicious breakfast in the lobby.  Bagels, orange juice and coffee were offered to all the particiapants.

Sisterhood Bake Sale (Stephaine Kaufman)
$314 was raised selling delicious baked goods donated by Sisterhood members.
