S’lichot (also written Selichot) is an evening service held the Saturday evening prior to Rosh Hashanah to culminate the process of repentance and forgiveness begun in the month of Elul. The service (often called “hush of midnight”) is typically held at midnight or, as at Kol Tikvah, culminates at midnight.
