Avi Marcovitz

Dr. Avi Marcovitz has vast experience as an educator and administrator in synagogues, day schools, and camps, with expertise in Holocaust studies through his work with March of the Living and Yad Vashem. Most recently, he served as Head of Judiac Studies at Ottawa Jewish Community School in Ottawa Canada. Avi started his career in the business world, serving as COO of a telecom company here in South Florida. After 5 years, he knew something was missing and found his calling in Jewish education. Over the years, he has been able to draw on that business experience as Chief Executive Officer of Best Buddies Israel in Jerusalem and as an education administrator. Avi holds a Doctorate in Organizational Leadership and a Masters Degree in Administrative Education from Nova Southeastern, and a BA in Semitic Studies from the University of Wisconsin. He is currently working on his PhD in Holocaust Studies from Gratz College. He loves to play hockey and is an avid runner.
